ATLANTA – The Millsaps College Department of Athletics posted another strong showing in the classroom as 96 student-athletes etched a place on the 2024 Southern Athletic Association Spring Academic Honor Roll, announced by SAA Commissioner Stacey LaDew on Thursday.
The 96 Majors on the honor roll consisted of student-athletes across 12 winter and spring sports, including men's basketball, women's basketball, men's swimming & diving, women's swimming & diving, baseball, softball, men's golf, women's golf, men's tennis, women's tennis, men's track & field and women's track & field.
Baseball tallied the most with 19 honorees, which was followed by women's basketball (13), women's track & field (12), softball (12) and men's golf (10). An impressive 81 percent of women's basketball, 77 percent of men's golf and 71 percent of women's track & field made the academic list.
Across eight current member institutions, the SAA tallied 1,164 individuals on the Honor Roll. To qualify, student-athletes from the SAA's member schools must have posted a minimum GPA of 3.25 for the semester and been a member of a conference-sponsored varsity sport.
