CANTON, Ga. — An impressive start to his freshman campaign has netted Millsaps football quarterback
Grant Bizjack his second Southern Athletic Association Football Offensive Athlete of the Week recognition on Monday, following a league-wide Sports Information Director vote and SAA office announcement.
Bizjack led the Majors' offense with 302 passing yards on 18 completions off 26 attempts, adding three touchdown passes in a narrow 37-36 defeat at Centre on Saturday. Bizjack also posted a rushing touchdown and 33 yards on the ground.
The first-year signal caller was also named the SAA Football Offensive Athlete of the Week following Millsaps' last game on Monday, Sept. 22.
Bizjack posted a similar dominant performance at Hendrix College.
The Trophy Club, Texas, native has totaled the second-most total passing yards (1,051), yards per game as well as 12 passing touchdowns. His three rushing scores also rank fourth, while he's added 174 rushing yards.
It is also the third straight SAA weekly honor featuring a member of the Majors, sandwiched around a bye week. Sophomore kicker
Connor Babin was selected the SAA Special Teams Athlete of the Week on Sept. 17.
Millsaps will remain on the road and continue SAA play at Rhodes College next Saturday, Oct. 11. Start time is slated for 1 p.m. with live video and live stats available at gomajors.com.
