JACKSON, Miss. – The Millsaps College softball program announced its highly anticipated and competitive 2026 schedule on Friday. Its current 42-game slate features nine matchups against teams that qualified for last season's NCAA Softball Championship.
The schedule offers a strong strength of schedule as well as flexibility in case of inclement weather. Millsaps will face six Southern Athletic Association opponents with the addition of Southwestern University and Trinity University this season. Only four of the seven SAA teams will advance to the 2026 SAA Softball Championship, which will take place again in Columbus, Ga., May 8-10.
Millsaps opens the season at home against Centenary College in a Saturday, Feb. 7 doubleheader. The two matchups will be the first of 18 scheduled home contests.
Millsaps then treks to Montgomery, Ala. for the Huntingdon Tournament and will compete in four games, Feb. 14-15. Then on Feb. 24, the Majors will then face Belhaven University down the street in the annual rivalry for a single game.
MUW and Millsaps will then become familiar with one another as the teams are scheduled to play a quartet of doubleheaders, with four in Jackson (Feb. 28 - March 1) and four in Columbus, Miss. (March 7-8).
The Majors become road warriors over the college's Spring Break with a trio of doubleheaders. LeTourneau University (March 10), Hendrix College (March 12) and Lyon College (March 14) host the Majors in Texas and Arkansas.
National power Illinois Wesleyan then makes it way to the Millsaps College Softball Complex a challenges the Majors in a twinbill on March 18.
Conference play follows, beginning with Centre College at home (March 21-22). Millsaps concludes the month by traveling to face Berry College (March 28-29) and hosts Belhaven (March 31) in the final non-conference battle.
Millsaps follows by taking on Sewanee in Tennessee (April 11-12) and welcoming Rhodes to campus (April 18-19). April 19 will also double as Senior Day.
The SAA regular season concludes with a three-game series against a pair of conference newcomers. First the Majors traverse to San Antonio to take on Trinity University (April 25-26) before hosting Southwestern University (May 2-3).
The top four conference teams will then descend upon the South Commons Softball Complex in Columbus, Ga. and compete in the 2026 SAA Softball Championship. A double-elimination format welcomes the teams, May 8-10, with the third-day featuring an if-necessary contest.
