Millsaps Tennis Claims All Four SAA Weekly Honors

Majors Sweep SAA Awards for First Time in School History

CANTON, Ga.  The Millsaps men's and women's tennis programs made history by sweeping all four Southern Athletic Association weekly honors after a conference coaches' vote, the SAA office announced on Tuesday.

Senior Carson Chassaignac was named the SAA Men's Tennis Singles Athlete of the Week, while senior Anderson Dulaney and junior Sam Tuli were tabbed SAA Men's Tennis Doubles Athletes of the Week. The trio earned the honors for second consecutive week.

On the women's side, senior Mackenzie Vordick garnered SAA Women's Tennis Singles Athlete of the Week as Vordick teamed up with classmate Mary Dabadie to be voted SAA Women's Tennis Doubles Athletes of the Week.

It is the first time both programs swept the SAA awards in the same week since the SAA began recognizing both doubles and singles awards in the 2020 season. The Majors previously claimed three of four honors on March 16, 2021.

Chassaignac was victorious in two matches on Court 1 singles over the weekend, helping the Majors to two team victories. He bested a Belhaven opponent (6-1, 6-4) on Saturday and Southwest Mississippi Community College challenger (6-3, 6-4) on Sunday.

Dulaney and Tuli secured identical 6-3 wins on Court 1 doubles over the weekend, helping the Majors to two team victories, 4-3 over Belhaven and 7-0 over Southwest.

Vordick triumphed in two matches on Court 2 singles over the weekend, propelling the Majors to two team victories. She bested a Belhaven foe (8-0) and Southwest Mississippi Community College opponent (6-1, 6-2) on Sunday.

Dabadie and Vordick earned pair of wins on Court 1 doubles over the weekend, powering the Majors to two team victories. The pair bettered foes from Belhaven (6-0) and Southwest (6-1). Millsaps swept both schools 7-0 in the team battles.

The Majors next get SAA action underway by traveling to Berry College. Millsaps will face the Vikings, beginning at 8 a.m. CT.
