JACKSON, Miss. – The Millsaps men's and women's cross country teams finalized their fast-paced 2025 schedule, which the Millsaps College Department of Athletics announced on Friday.
The Majors will compete in five regular-season meets prior to up to three postseason races.
Competition will begin in Memphis, Tenn. with the City Auto Memphis Twilight XC Classic on Saturday, Aug. 30. The festival of races with collegiate races at 9:20 p.m. and 10 p.m. The women will cover five kilometers followed by a four-miler by the men.
Millsaps next competes close home in the Mississippi College 5K Opener on Friday, Sept. 5. Races will take place along the Choctaw Trails in Clinton, Miss.
After a week of race recovery, the Majors return to Memphis for the Rhodes College Cross Country Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 20 with a morning 5K and 8K.
The Majors are then set to compete in another festival at the Twilight at John Hunt Park in Huntsville, Ala. Festivities conclude with the second and only set of evening races again at 5K and 8K.
Remaining races feature 6K and 8K disciplines for the women and men, beginning with the only meet in October. Clinton, Miss. is again the site of the Watson Collegiate Classic on Friday, Oct. 17.
Southern Athletic Association newcomer Southwestern University then hosts the 2025 SAA Cross Country Championships in Georgetown, Texas on Saturday, Nov. 1.
Top contenders will then compete in the NCAA South Region Championships in Salem, Va. on Saturday, Nov. 15. Those lucky enough to post exceptional times at that event will qualify for the NCAA Cross Country Championships, which will be hosted in Spartanburg, S.C. on Saturday, Nov. 22.
