JACKSON, Miss. – The Millsaps men's and women's track and field programs are locked in and ready to compete in the 2026 indoor and outdoor seasons. The women's squad will consist of 14 student-athletes, while the men's team will enter the campaign with 16 competitors.

The Majors will be led by second-year head coach Brandon Beckett and assistant Derrick Jordan, along with throwing coach Hannah Lingold. The trio will all continue leading the Majors with their guidance and leadership.

Senior Eleanor Scott is set to lead the women's team, participating in sprinting and jumping events as she continues her impressive collegiate career with the Majors.

Scott currently holds the record in the Millsaps track & field record book for the women's triple jump at 11.48 meters, carried out at the 2024 Southern Athletic Association Outdoor Championships.

Last season, on April 12 at the Rhodes 7-Way Meet, she held first place in the triple jump (11.08 m) following a phenomenal finish.

Scott was a first-place contender in the Belhaven Twilight on April 3, achieving a high jump of 1.50 meters. She also ranks fourth in school history in the high jump (1.55 m).

The Clinton, Miss., native was recognized on the 2024 All-SAA Honorable Mention list for her performance as a triple jumper.

Sophomore Claudia Dempsey will be rejoining the team after a successful cross country season in the fall.

She set the program's fourth-fastest time in the 3000-meter steeplechase, finishing in 12 minutes, 55.19 minutes at the conference meet to close last season.

At the Rhodes 7-Way Meet, Dempsey helped the Majors place third in the women's 4x100 relay alongside teammates, sophomores Molly Northam and Suzanna Busbee as well as junior Fiona Selders.

Selders will be making her way back to the track team as a sprinter and a jumper. Last year the Zachary, La., product competed in five meets for the Majors.

Selders ranks third in the program records for both the women's 400 meters (59.66) and the women's 200-meters (26.40), with both times achieved during the 2025 season.

Additionally, she holds the fourth position in the  women's 100-meter record book with a time of 12.85 that was set on April 6, 2024, at the Bison Open. Selders is looking forward to having another great season ahead.

Other running talent will feature sprinter and jumper sophomore Suzanna Busbee, a dual-sport athlete from the women's soccer team.

Last year, Busbee achieved personal bests in three events she competed in the 2025 SAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship, which included the 200 and 400 as well as the long jump events.

Northam, another dual-sport athlete from the women's basketball team, will be returning to take part with her teammates in the track events as a sprinter and a jumper.

Last year, Northam participated in three track meets and achieved a personal best time of 1:08.11 in the 400-meter preliminaries at the 2025 SAA Track and Field Championship.

Freshman Katie Brown is poised for a great season as a first-year collegiate sprinter and jumper. Brown, hailing from Piedmont, Ala., won the 3A State 300-meter hurdles championship and was part of the 4x800 relay team that won at the Alabama State Championship.

Appearing in five meets during the 2025 season, junior Amelia Bohl returns to the Majors to make an impact upon her peers.

Bohl achieved her best performance at the Belhaven Invitational on March 22, where she secured ninth place in the discus throw with a distance of 31.69 meters.

She later posted season-best performances at the 2025 SAA Track and Field Championship in both the discus throw (31.78m) and hammer throw (32.40m). Both tosses claimed 11th place across the conference.

Senior Amari Jackson-Wright, another outstanding thrower for the Majors, is welcomed back for the 2026 season.

Jackson-Wright began her collegiate career last year at the 2025 Mississippi College Spring Classic, where she finished eighth in the women's shot put event with a throw of 8.96 meters.

The Biloxi, Miss., native also recorded a college best at the Belhaven Invitational on March 22. In the shot put, she placed 11th out of 19 other contestants (10.02 m) in the field event.

Classmate Reese Brasseaux, a two-sport athlete and also a member of the women's soccer team, looks to have an awesome season after finishing five meets last year.

At the 2025 SAA Track and Field Championship, she threw 29.30 meters in the hammer throw. She also covered 25.62 meters as a discus thrower at the Rhodes 7-Way Meet on April 12, setting two personal bests during her junior campaign.

Another important thrower for the Majors is sophomore Laken Day from the women's cross country program. She participated in three competitions last season, placing seventh at both the 2025 Mississippi College Spring Classic on March 1 with a throw of 25.34 meters, and the Rhodes Invitational track and field meet two weeks later with a throw of 29.57 meters.

Other notable throwers will include sophomore Geda Brewster and senior Tayler Gonzales. Both could potentially have a breakout season for the Majors.

On the distance side are sophomore Taylor Sutton and freshman Sarah Grace Hoggatt. The two teammates are ready to show their speed around the track after coming off a strong cross country season.

Under distance runner with a strong cross country season under his belt includes sophomore Phillip Antis. He is ready to shift gears and lead the Majors ahead of the 2026 track and field season as a sprinter and a jumper.

Antis finished well at the Belhaven Invitational last year, finishing 19th out of 33 finishers in the men's 400 meters (52.84) on March 22.

He also placed fifth in the 400 meters at the Belhaven Twilight meet on April 3 in 53.91 seconds. At the 2025 SAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship, Antis alongside his classmate Aidan Brice, were half of the men's 4x400-meter relay that finished sixth in 3:40.69.

Another sprinter and jumper ready to rule the lanes, Brice finished ninth in the 200 meters at the Belhaven Twilight on April 12 in 24.94 seconds. Brice has high expectations after participating in five meets the previous season and lowering his 200-meter time to 24.13.

After taking last year off due to injury, junior Greer Hernandez is pumped and ready to go for the 2026 season.

At the regional meet on Nov. 11, 2023, Hernandez broke the school's cross country 8K record in 26:09.75. In the same meet, he became the program's first-ever NCAA Division III Cross Country All-Region finisher.

Carter Davis, a junior thrower for the Majors, is well prepared for the 2026 season after competing in six events the previous year and earning a spot on the 2024–25 SAA Indoor Track and Field All-Sportsmanship Team.

Another strong caliber thrower for the Majors is sophomore Dillion Duley, who competed in two meets during the 2025 season. On March 1 at the 2025 Millsaps College Spring Classic he participated in three events. Duley finished 17th in both the men's shot put (10.34 m) and discus (26.16 m) as well as 19th in the men's hammer (16.79 m), putting forth a great effort in every competition he participated in.

Following a successful cross country season, freshmen Cameron Anderson, Mason Castleberry, Devion Hart, Dallas Stricker, Benjamin Sylve, and Wyatt Wheeler will aim to maintain a strong reputation and form for the Majors after a successful Fall slate.

Freshman Luke LeFors, a member of the Millsaps men's basketball team, has joined the men's track and field team with the goal of continuing to compete at a high level in both sprints and jumps for the Majors.

Freshmen Michael Cosgriff, Frederick Fluker Jr. and Nicholas Price and are also looking forward to having great careers with the Majors.

The Majors will begin their 2026 season indoors at the Samford Open on Jan. 17 in Birmingham, Ala. Following that, Millsaps will focus on the UAB Invitational on Feb. 7, also in Birmingham, Ala., before competing in the 2026 SAA Indoor Track & Field Championships, Feb. 27-28, hosted by Centre College in Danville, Ky. 
 
On March 7, the Majors will compete close to home in their first outdoor meet of the season at the Mississippi College Spring Classic in Clinton, Miss. The squads will then travel to the Volunteer State to participate in the Rhodes Invitational, March 20-21 in Memphis. 
 
The Majors will next journey to the Southern Miss Invitational and compete April 3-4 in Hattiesburg, Miss. The regular season will conclude at the Rhodes 7-Way Meet in Memphis on April 11.  
 
The last scheduled event will be the 2026 SAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Rome, Ga., hosted by Berry College, April 24-25.
