JACKSON, Miss. — The Millsaps College men's and women's track and field programs will travel to Danville, Ky. this weekend to compete in the 2026 Southern Athletic Assocation Indoor Championships. Live video can be found
here, while live results can be tracked
here as the Majors compete inside Champions Hall.
The Majors will have 18 student-athletes competing in events.
Starting off, the Majors will have four sprinters competing on the men's side all running the 4x400 relay. They are Aidan Brice, Wyatt Wheeler, Nick Price, and Frederick Fluker Jr.
Brice will also be competing in the 60 meters and the 200 meters.
Wheeler will also race the 60 meters, 200 meters, and his favorite 400 meters. He ranks 25th in the SAA in the 400 with the 54.97 he put up at UAB a few weeks ago.
Price will also be running in the 200 meter to go along with his best race, the 60 meters. He set the SAA's 23rd best time with a 7.22 in Birmingham on February 6th.
Fluker will be doing a little bit of running and jumping this weekend as well when he also competes in the 60 meters, the 200 meters, and his best race the 60 meter hurdle. If Fluker can keep the SAA's 7th best 10.01 pace he ran in Birmingham, he will have a good chance of making the finals of that event.
Millsaps Men's Track and Field will also send four long distance runners to Kentucky.
Mason Castleberry will be competing in the 3,000 meters, 5,000 meters, and the 4,000 DMR.
Joining him on the DMR team is Dallas Stricker, who will also run the 3,000 meters, and his best race the mile, where he currently ranks 14th.
The third member of the team is Benjamin Sylve, who will also run his best race, the 800 meters, where he currently ranks 30th with a 2.07.78.
The last member of the DMR team is Greer Hernandez. The SAA athlete of the week a week ago will also run in the 5,000 meters and the 3,000 meters. Greer ran a 9.07.81 in the 3,000 meters in Birmingam a few weeks ago, which ranks him 22nd.
The Majors will also send five throwers to Danville.
Competing in both the shotput and the weight throw will be Michael Cosgriff, Jacari Watson, and Sean Wyers. Wyers set an SAA 10th best throw in the shotput on January 17th in Samford, AL with a 41' 4.5".
Throwing in just the weight throw will be Carter Davis.
Throwing just the shotput is Dillon Duley, who himself ranks 26th best in the SAA with a 34' 9.5"
On the women's side, the Majors will be sending fiveathletes to compete.
Fiona Selders will be the only short distance runner for Millsaps where she will run the 60 meters, 200 meters, and 400 meters. Selders is ranked in all three of these events. She sits 14th in the 200 meters, 21st in the 400 meters, and her best 9th in the 60 meters. She has a great shot of making the finals with an impressive 8.08 in that event.
As far as jumpers are concerned, Millsaps will send two athletes to compete.
First is Katie Brown, who will be jumping in the high jump. Brown is in fine position to make the finals of this event with a 1.45 meter jump three weeks ago, which sits 7th best in the SAA.
Next up is Elanor Scott in both the high jump and the triple jump. Scott's strongest event is the triple jump, where she also ranks 7th in the SAA with a 10.37 meter jump.
To round out the major's lineup, Millsaps will send two throwers on the women's side.
First up is Vivian Jordan competing in the shotput and weight throw. The sophomore currently ranks 28th in the SAA with a 7.92 meter throw in the shotput a month ago.
The other Major throwing in both these events is Amari Jackson-Wright. Jackson-Wright ranks 27th in the weight throw, and 24th in her best event, the shotput, with a 9.45 meter throw
The Majors will be all ready to go for two days of competition in the new Champions Hall this weekend.
