JACKSON, Miss. — The calander has turned to 2026 as the Millsaps College men's and women's tennis programs return to the courts with several new faces and returning contributors. Millsaps has a home-heavy schedule with 11 out of 18 opponents battling the Majors on the Coach Montgomery Courts in Jackson, Miss.
Combined the Majors will feature 13 student-athletes, with seven being newcomers.
The women's team will be led by senior
Alexis Oliver. Oliver, the only returning upperclassmen to this team, holds an impressive 20 wins in her career despite missing the 2024 season due to injury. Last season she had five singles wins and seven doubles wins, half of which came up against SAA opponents.
She will be followed by a strong sophomore class including
Riley McClain,
Malakie Smith, and
Skylar Spinks, who were all also named ITA Scholar-Athletes and the SAA All-Academic Team. The sophomore trio have a combined 36 wins in their first years as Majors.
Making her season debut is the sole freshman on the team,
Bella-Bennett Graham, who will begin to make her legacy this season. Additionally, the Majors are adding former Millsaps volleyball student-athlete and sophomore
Virginia Trible.
The women are coming off back-to-back SAA Championship qualifications and are looking to make it three this up and coming campaign.
Leading the way for the men's team will be senior
Sam Tuli. After a large graduating class of seniors, Tuli remains the only upperclassmen on the men's squad. Tuli does not lack experience, with 39 wins across his three seasons.
The only other returner for the Majors is sophomore
Sebastian Gonzalez. Gonzalez was able to pick up two doubles wins in his first year with the Majors, and is looking to build upon that going into year two.
A bunch of fresh faces enter the scene as the Majors bring in some young reinforcements looking to make a huge impact in their very first collegiate season. Those new players are
Anderson Causey,
Jon Nguyen,
Cooper Payne,
Brennan Pierce, and
Bradley Schiaffino.
Head Coach of the men's and women's tennis teams,
Agnes Gee enters her sixth season at the helm. Gee will be looking to improve off of these past couple seasons after making the SAA Tournament back-to-back years for the women, and looks to win conference titles for both squads.
