BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Millsaps College men's and women's track and field programs posted stellar performances at the UAB Green and Gold Invitational inside the Birmingham CrossPlex on Friday.
Freshman
Frederick Fluker Jr. set the school record in the 60-meter hurdles, classmate
Dallas Stricker bettered his top time in the mile, while junior
Fiona Selders set a new record in the 60-meter dash.
On the men's side, finished 31st in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 10.01 seconds. He also placed 45th in the open 60 meters (7.78).
Stricker bettered his own time in the mile, crossing the line in 4 minutes, 29.96 seconds, good for 11th place. He also became the fourth quickest runner in program history in the 3000 meters. His time of 9:33.22 earned him 24th.
Fellow distance runner and junior
Greer Hernandez became the second fastest Major ever in the mile (4:36.23; 17th) as well as the second swiftest in the 3K (9:07.81; 20th).
The Majors continued their distance success in the 800 meters. Freshman
Benjamin Sylve clocked 2:07.78 to become the third swiftest Major all-time and placed 26th.
Sprinters who performed adorably included freshman
Nick Price and sophomore
Aidan Brice. Price is now the second best in the 60 meters (7.22; 29th) and third in the 200 meters (23.68; 40th). Brice is also now tied as the fourth quickest Major in the 60-meter dash (7.44; 41st).
On the women's side, Selders had an excellent meet eclipsing the school record in the 60 meters (8.08; 33rd). She also became the third-fastest in indoor school history in both the 200 meters (27.08; 30th) and the 400 meters (1:05.26; 33rd).
Also earning a spot in the program record book was senior
Amari Jackson-Wright. She tied for fifth in the all-time ranks for Millsaps in the weight throw. She placed 30th with a mark of 8.73 meters.
The Majors will be back in action at the 2026 Southern Athletic Association Indoor Track & Field Championships in Danville, Ky., Feb. 27-28.
