Warren, Freeman Net D3hoops.com All-Region Honors

Duo Named to First Team, Second Team on Monday

JACKSON, Miss. – Millsaps College women's basketball duo Elyse Warren and Garin Freeman's tremendous seasons were recognized once more on Monday, with both being named to the 2025-26 D3hoops.com All-Region teams for Region 6. Warren secured a spot on the First Team, while Freeman was honored on the Second Team.

Warren earned her first career All-Region honor, and Freeman earned her second All-Region plaudit after making the Third Team last season. Additionally, Warren becomes the third player in program history to make the First Team. Freeman is now the second Major to earn at least two All-Region nods.

A total of 797 men's and women's student-athletes were nominated nationwide across 10 regions by school Sports Information Directors. The finalists made the ballot and were voted on by a number of SIDs in their region.

It's the 25th season D3hoops.com has named All-Region teams. The regional Rookie of the Year award honors the top freshman in each region, while D3hoops.com also names a regional Coach of the Year.

Division III basketball is organized into 10 regions. A region with 40 teams or more has three All-Region teams honored, while a region with fewer than 40 teams has a first and second team. This organization results in approximately 10 additional players being recognized when compared to full seasons in the old eight-region alignment.

Players from these lists are eligible for the D3hoops.com All-America teams. The women's basketball All-America team will be released on March 21, at the national championship game, and the men's basketball All-America team will be released in the following week.

Warren, a senior center from Memphis, Tenn., was named a 2025-26 Jostens Trophy Award finalist on Thursday. Fans can vote for her to be named the recipient of the award here.

She was also selected the SAA Women's Basketball Defensive Athlete of the Year and made All-SAA First Team. She has set both the conference single-season and career rebounding records with 479 and 1,219 boards, respectively.

Across NCAA Division III, Warren currently ranks third in total boards and third in rebounds per game (17.1 rpg). Earlier this season, she grabbed 33 rebounds in a single game, which is also a conference record.

She is also second nationally with 24 double-doubles in just 24 games. Averaging 14.8 points per game, she ranks seventh in the conference. With her 1,236 career points, she is the first player in program history to record 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds.

The Rhodes Scholarship Finalist is also first in the league in field goal percentage at 53.9 percent (153-of-284 FG). Warren also has 33 steals, 13 blocks and nine assists.

The U.S. Basketball Writers Association Division III National Player of the Week (Jan. 6) earned her fourth All-Conference accolade after an Honorable Mention nod her freshman season, and a pair of All-SAA Second Team appearances. Warren was also named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week on Jan. 5 and was named the SAA Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week three times this season.

Freeman, a junior guard from Little Rock, Ark., made the All-SAA First Team for the second straight season and third time overall after breaking out as an All-SAA Honorable Mention her freshman year. She was also named the SAA Tournament MVP.

Following the 2025-26 season, Freeman ranks first nationally with 195 assists, and third with 6.7 dimes per game. She is also first in free-throw attempts (251), and fifth in free-throw makes (162).

Across the conference, the Little Rock, Ark., stood second in minutes per game, first in points (511), runner-up in points per contest (17.6), while also standing fourth in steals (65) and steals per game (2.2).
