GREENWOOD, Ind. -- A quartet of Millsaps College scholar-athletes received recognition after being selected to the 2025-26 CSC Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Teams. Sophomores

Greer Hernandez all received praise from the College Sports Communicators on Tuesday, June 16.
The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their athletic pursuits and excellence in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes student-athletes in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and the NAIA.
To be nominated by CSC members, student-athletes must have maintained a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA and eligible nominees were based off TFRRS regional performance rankings at the time of nomination, excluding relays. For NCAA institutions in indoor or outdoor track and field, a student-athlete must be ranked in the top 50 in at least one event. For cross country, an individual must have finished in the top 50 in a 2025 NCAA regional competition.
Day made her way onto the 2025-26 CSC Academic All-District® Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Teams for the first time in her collegiate career after posting a 3.56 cumulative GPA in her undergraduate studies.
The Lafayette, La., native is currently majoring in Exercise Science and holds many academic accomplishments at Millsaps College, such as being named on the Dean's List on four occasions and the Southern Athletic Association Academic Honor three times.
When not competin,g Day dedicated her time working as a writing center consultant on campus, where she helps other colleagues across campus become better writers.
After graduation, she plans to earn a Doctor of Occupational Therapy degree. During her sophomore campaign, Day competed in five meets, posting strong finishes for the Majors and giving her best effort in each competition she faced.
On April 11, she placed third in the javelin throw at the Rhodes 7-Way Meet, topping her performance with a mark of 28.40 meters (93' 2"). The mark placed her 21st in the javelin within the 2026 DIII South Region Outdoor Performance list as well.
Dempsey, an Accounting major was recognized for earning a 3.52 GPA. The Piedmont, Ala., product has earned a spot on the Dean's List twice, three times made the SAA Academic Honor Roll. Her great leadership was recognized on the 2025 SAA Fall All-Sportsmanship Team in cross country.
On campus she is a member of Kappa Delta and plans to attend graduate school after earning her degree. Dempsey currently sits fourth in the Millsaps Women's Outdoor Track and Field record book in the 3000-meter steeplechase record book.
Excelling in the 2026 track and field outdoor season, Dempsey placed third at the Southern Miss Invitational (14:04.68). She finished fourth at the Rhodes 7-Way Meet with a completed time of 13:27.88, which ranked her 32nd in the 2026 DIII South Region Outdoor Performance list. Millsaps can continue to expect many great things from Dempsey as she continues her collegiate career.
Northam, a member of the Millsaps women's basketball team, cross-country, and track & field programs, earned her right to be on the list.
Majoring in Biology, the scholar-athlete holds a 3.88 GPA and was recognized on Club 40 for boasting a perfect 4.0 during the Spring 2025 semester.
Northam has been named to both the Dean's List and President's List twice, as well as to the SAA Academic Honor Roll on two occasions.
On the campus of Millsaps, Northam is a member of Tri Beta and Phi Beta Sigma, serves as an FCA Leader, and a member of the Christian Collective. After graduation, she plans to attend graduate school to study Optometry.
During the 2026 Millsaps Track and Field season, Northam competed in four meets. She finished fourth in the javelin (27.15 m) at the Rhodes 7 Way Meet.
In the 2026 DIII South Region Outdoor Performance list, Northam was ranked 22nd in the javelin after concluding the 2026 SAA Outdoor Championship with a mark of 28.26 meters.
In addition, she holds the 40th spot in the high jump across the South Region, having placed 14th with a mark of 1.37 meters at the conference championship.
A native of Broussard, La., Hernandez on Day One of the 2026 SAA Outdoor Championships made his name known. Hernandez ran a blistering, school-record time of 32 minutes, 7.12 seconds in the 10,000 meters after unleashing a killer close in the final 150 meters to win first place.
He became the 11th conference champion from the Millsaps men's track and field team in program history following his dominate run.
The first-place accolade earned Hernandez a spot on the All-SAA First Team. Hernandez finished the distance events with a 10th-place finish in the 5000 meters (15:25.27).
In the 2025 indoor season at the UAB Green and Gold Invitational, Hernandez became the fastest Major in the indoor 5K (15:23.86, 12th regionally) as well as the swiftest in the 3K (8:51.19; 22nd regionally).
Hernandez finished his outstanding sophomore season ranked 13th in the 10,000 meters and 26th in the 5000 meters in the men's 2026 DIII South Region Outdoor Performance List.
