CANTON, Ga. — The Millsaps men's and women's soccer programs continue to make a difference on the playing field. Both teams were selected ninth in the 2026 Southern Athletic Association Preseason Polls, as voted on by league coaches and announced by the SAA office on Wednesday.
On the men's side, Trinity University was picked first with 72 points, receiving eight first-place votes.
Southwestern University placed second with 55 points and one first-place vote.
Berry College finished third with 54 points, while the Majors were selected ninth with 16 points in the 2026 preseason poll.
The Millsaps men's program will be led by head coach Gentry Johnson and assistant coaches Stephen Roberson, Derek Anderson, and Michael Azzarone.
The Majors will enter the season with a 43-man roster eager to compete and make a name for themselves in the conference.
On the women's side Trinity University was crowned first with 71 points and seven first-place votes.
Sewanee was selected as the runner-up behind the Tigers with 64 points and two first-place votes.
Rhodes College took third place with 58 points, while the Millsaps women's soccer team finished ninth with 16 points.
The Majors will be guided by head coach Luke Schwarz and assistant coaches Lauren Samford and Mary Ranager.
The women's soccer team will host Huntingdon College on Sept. 1 to open the 2026 season, while the men's squad will travel to Pensacola Christian College for its season opener on Sept. 4.
