NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Millsaps College women's golf team competed at the NCAA Division III ITA South Regionals at the Farm and Forge Club over the weekend. Junior
Samantha Parris won the 32-player back draw in the Consolation B bracket.
After losing a tough first round to Centre College indoors 3-6, 3-6, Parris settled in and played very good tennis. She defeated Covenant College 6-4, 6-2 and then Berry College 7-5, 6-2. In the 32 player backdraw finals Parris came back from losing a tough first set 4-6 to win the second set 6-4. The finals came down to a 3 set super tiebreaker coming out on top 10-5 to give Parris to back draw win.
Freshman
Gabryelle Habetz also won her back draw first round in straight sets. Habetz lost in the second round of the back draw in a very competitive match. The future looks bright for the Millsaps College women's tennis program after a good first tournament of the season.
