Jackson, MS – The Millsaps Women's Tennis Team earned their third win of the season by defeating Huntingdon Sunday 8-1.
 
With the win, the Majors improve to 3-1 on the young season.  The Majors again set the tone for the match with effective doubles play by winning all three.  With dominant wins in the one and two spots for singles, Millsaps clinched the match over the Hawks.
 
Ashley Ford and Audrey Bennett got things started with an 8-1 win in the doubles one spot.  Jordyn Kanak and Reya Hayek also earned a convincing 8-1 win as Mary Claiborne-Sharpe and Tori Barbier completed the doubles sweep winning 8-2.
 
In the singles one and two spot, Ford and Bennett clinched the match with two quick victories winning by a combined 24-1.
 
With the tone set for the match, the Majors secured solid wins at the three, five and six spots with the only loss coming at the four spot in a tight, two-set match.
 
Now at 3-1 on the year, Millsaps Women's Tennis will look to continue the positive momentum from a three-game win streak heading into more non-conference home play this weekend. 
 
Next up for Millsaps Women's Tennis is a matchup against UT Tyler.  Play against the Patriots will start at 10:00 am this Saturday, Feb. 27^th.
