Jackson, MS – The Millsaps Women's Tennis Team fell to nationally ranked UT Tyler by a score of 8-1 on Saturday.
 
The loss marks the second of the season for Women's Tennis, as 10^th ranked UT Tyler earned their seventh win of the year.  The Patriots got things started fast by winning all doubles matches.
 
Millsaps sophomore, Ashley Ford, gave the Majros a great deal of momentum in singles play with a win in the one spot.  Ford continued her unbeaten singles streak facing the 16th overall player in the West Region for ITA Rankings.  Ford earned solid wins of 6-4, 6-2 to secure the lone singles victory for Millsaps.
 
The Patriots earned wins at the other five singles spots to secure the win and continue their undefeated season.  Despite the loss, Millsaps Women's Tennis played solid matches for the day and gained a great deal of experience from facing a nationally ranked, top-ten team.
 
The Majors will look to use the momentum moving forward into Sunday's non-conference home matchup against Loyola (New Orleans).
