Jackson, MS – The Millsaps Women's Tennis Team finished the weekend of play on a positive note by defeating Loyola (New Orleans) 9-0.
 
With the win, the Majors move to 4-2 on the year.  Today's win also marks the third time this season that Women's Tennis has swept an opponent nine games to none.  After setting the tone by winning the doubles matchups by a combined 24-2, the Majors earned a convincing 9-0 win.
 
The duos of Ashley Ford/Audrey Bennett and Tori Barbier/Mary Claiborne-Sharpe got things started for the Majors at the one and three spots with 8-0 wins.  Reya Hayek and Anna Brahce also put the Majors on the board with an 8-2 doubles win.
 
Needing two more wins to clinch the match, the Majors and Wolf Pack headed to singles play.
 
Ashley Ford again got things started by winning her match 6-1, 6-0.  Wins at the two and three spots via Audrey Bennett and Mary Claiborne-Sharpe clinched the victory and improved Millsaps to 4-2.  Anna Brahce, Reya Hayek and Tori Barbier also secured wins to earn a sweep for today's play.
 
The Majors will travel for their first road game of the season this week for a matchup against Covenant.  The road matchup from Lookout Mountain, Georgia is set for this Friday, March 4^th.
