Demorest, GA – The Millsaps Women's Tennis Team continued a six-match win streak by defeating Piedmont 9-0 earlier today.
 
Friday's win improves MIllsaps Women's Tennis to 9-2 on the year as the Majors continue a series of eight consecutive matches played on the road.  Millsaps took a 3-0 lead by winning all doubles matchups – and never looked back en route to a 9-0 win.
 
The duos of Ashley Ford/Audrey Bennett and Anna Brahce/Tori Barbier got things started at the one and three spots with 8-2, 8-1 wins.  At the doubles two spot, Reya Hayek and Jordyn Kanak secured a hard fought win 8-6 to give Millsaps a 3-0 lead.
 
In singles play, Audrey Bennett and Jordyn Kanak clinched the match for Millsaps with convincing wins at the one and two spots.  In the third, fourth and fifth spots, Mary Claiborne-Sharpe,Tori Baribier and Anna Brahce also clinched convincing wins.  In the sixth spot, Reya Hayek closed out the day of play with a hard fought win 7-5, 6-3.
 
Now at 9-2 on the year, the Majors will have a few days to prepare for the conference opener on the road.  Next up for Millsaps Women's Tennis is a matchup with Birmingham Southern.
 
Play against the Panthers is set for next Friday, March 18th in Birmingham, Alabama at 12:00 pm CST.
