Jackson, MS – The Millsaps Women's Tennis team defeated Rhodes by a score of 7-2 in the first conference match of the weekend.
With the win, the Majors improve to 13-6 overall and 3-3 in conference play while Rhodes falls to 6-12 (1-5). The Lynx, who were shorthanded due to injuries, fell behind 3-0 by default, as the Majors secured the victory with a win in doubles play and three wins in singles play.
The duo of
Ashley Ford and
Jordyn Kanak got things started earning a win at the doubles one spot 8-6. The Lynx secured a win at the doubles two spot 8-5, but the Majors responded winning three of the four singles matchups.

Jordyn Kanak again gave the Majors a great deal of positive momentum with wins at the singles one and two spots 6-4, 6-2 and 6-2, 6-3.
After Rhodes earned a win at the three spot,
Tori Barbier completed the solid day of play for the Majors with a hard-fought win at the four spot in three sets. After falling in the first 6-1, Barbier responded with two straight wins 6-1 and 10-4 to secure the victory for Millsaps and close the day of play.
The Majors will look to continue the positive momentum with another home match tomorrow, April 17th. Millsaps Women's Tennis faces Hendrix for the final match of the regular season. Senior Day play between the Warriors and Majors is set to begin at 9:00 am.
