Jackson, MS – The Millsaps Women's Tennis team completed the weekend unbeaten with a 6-3 victory over Hendrix on Sunday.
 
The Majors celebrated Senior Day as senior Anna Brahce graduates this semester following an outstanding career both on and off the court of play for Millsaps.  After taking an early 2-0 lead in doubles play, the Majors clinched the match in singles to secure their 14th win of the year.  Sunday's match also closes out the regular season with the Majors finishing 14-6 overall and 4-3 in SAA play.
 
The duo of Ashley Ford and Audrey Bennett got things started with an 8-2 win at the doubles one spot.  The Warriors earned a win at the two spot, but Anna Brahce and Tori Barbier closed out the doubles matchups with an 8-2 victory in the three spot.
 
Following the doubles play, Ashley Ford and Audrey Bennett continued the positive momentum with convincing 6-2, 6-1 wins at the singles one and two spots.  Hendrix then secured hard-fought wins at the three and four spots – both in three sets.
 
Needing another win to clinch the match, the Majors gained a huge boost from Reya Hayek and Anna Brahce at the five and six spots.  Hayek secured a sin of 7-5 and 6-1 to clinch the match while Anna Brahce highlighted the final match of the day with a tough three-set win.
 
The senior earned a first set win 6-1, but fell in the second 6-4.  She responded with a convincing 6-1 win in the third set to secure the victory and close the day of play.
 
Women's Tennis completes the regular season with an overall record of 14-6 and 4-3 in SAA play.  The Majors will travel next weekend for the SAA Tournament held at Old Fort Park in Murfreesboro, Tenn.  Opening play for the conference tournament is set to begin on Friday, April 29th.
