BOX SCORE TYLER, TX. -- The Millsaps College Women's Tennis Team concluded their Texas road trip with another non-conference match against the Kangaroos of Austin College. Rachel Beck and Jordyn Kanak moved up to number one doubles playing a solid doubles team from Austin College to fall 8-4. Number two doubles was composed of a new pairing in Maggie Dabadie and Tori Barbier who handled their match to win 8-5. Still solid at the number 3 doubles spot, Reya Hayek and Natalie Toups would win their match 8-3 allowing the Majors to take a momentum lead up 2-1 after doubles.

Maggie Dabadie continued her winning streak to hold on for a 6-3, 7-5 win at number one singles. Austin College came back strong with wins at numbers 2, 3, and 4 singles. The Roos would take the lead 4-3 in the match. Â

The deciding matches came down to number 5 singles, Tori Barbier and number 6 singles, Natalie Toups. Tori continued to play well winning the first set 6-0, but would have to raise her level to hang on for a second set score of 6-4. The Majors and Roos found themselves all tied up a 4-4.

The deciding match and match of the day came from freshman and Baton Rouge native, Natalie Toups. Natalie found a solid rhythm to take the first set 6-3. With one more set to clinch the match, Natalie continued to use her strong serve and groundstrokes to over power her opponent to a 6-3, 6-3 victory.

The Majors concluded their Texas road trip with a 5-4 victory over Austin College. The Majors are now 3-2 on the season. The Majors return home taking on Convenant College Friday, February 24th on Coach Montgomery Courts.
