BOX SCORE TYLER, TX. -- The Millsaps College Women's Tennis Team continued their Texas road trip with a non-conference match against the Patriots of the University of Texas at Tyler. In doubles, the number one pairing of Ashley Ford and Maggie Dabadie, played a tough and resilient team to hang on the for 8-6 victory. The number 3 doubles team of Reya Hayek and Natalie Toups had a battle that went the distance, but feel just short in a tiebreaker ending in a 9-8 score. The Majors would find themselves down 1-2 heading into singles.

With a lineup change heading into singles, all the Majors would be moved up one spot. Maggie Dabadie, once again, raised her game to new heights to get the Majors another point on the board. Maggie would drop the first set 2-6, but only to find her groove going into the second set and third set tiebreaker. Maggie received her first victory at the number one spot winning 2-6, 6-3, 10-4.

Singles spots 2, 3, 4 and 6 had competitive matches, but equally fell in straight sets.

The match of the day came from sophomore and New Orleans native, Tori Barbier. Tori played some of her best tennis this season. Tori started off slow dropping the first set   1-6. Tori regrouped and found her winning ways to win the second set 6-3 forcing a third set tiebreaker. Being one of the last matches on, and playing in front of the Majors fans that traveled with the team, Tori persevered to win 10-5 in the third set tiebreaker. Â

The Majors battled but fell to the Patriots with a final score of 3-6. The final match of the Texas road trip is tomorrow Sunday, February 19th at 10:00 am against the Kangaroos of Austin College.
