JACKSON, Miss. – The Millsaps College women's tennis team kicked off the final weekend of the 2018 regular season by hosting Rhodes College on Friday night.
The Majors cruised to their third straight win by a final score of 6-0.
The win improves the Millsaps record to 12-6 overall and 5-1 in the SAA. The Lynx fall to 3-14 overall and 0-5 in conference play.
The Majors easily handled all three doubles matches. At #1
Grace Gaskins and
Ashley Ford won 8-4.
Maggie Dabadie and
Rachel Beck took #2 by an 8-2 score, and the combination of
Ella Shields /
Reya Hayek closed it out with an 8-0 sweep at #3.
As the match moved into singles play, Millsaps quickly clinched their win.
Jordyn Kanak picked up a 6-0, 6-1 win at #4.
Morgan Jenkins took #5 by a score of 6-0, 6-0 and Hayek picked up her second win of the evening with a 6-0, 6-0 win at #6.
What's Next?
The Majors are back at home for the final match of the regular season on Sunday. Millsaps hosts Hendrix College in a match that is set to begin at 9:00am.
