JACKSON, Miss. – On Monday, the #38 Millsaps College women's tennis team took on the Vikings of Berry College in a match that had to be rescheduled due to inclement weather over the weekend.

The Majors held a commanding 3-0 lead after doubles play and captured a pair of singles matches to win 5-2 in a match that was played to decision.

The win improves the Millsaps record to 11-6 overall on the year and 4-1 in the SAA. The Vikings fall to 8-5 overall and 2-3 in the conference.  The Majors now sit alone at second place in the SAA standings, one match behind Sewanee.

The Majors dominated doubles play to quickly move ahead 3-0 in the match. Ashley Ford and Jillian Sandoz cruised to an 8-1 victory at #1. Maggie Dabadie and Rachel Beck took doubles #2 by an 8-6 score, and the team of Ella Shields and Reya Hayek completed the doubles sweep with an 8-2 win at #3.

Because the match was played to decision, only four singles matches ended with final scores. The Vikings got a pair of wins at #4 and #2, but Sandoz easly took #6 by a 6-0, 6-2 score and Dabadie came from behind at #1 to clinch the match for the Majors with a 2-6, 6-3, 6-1 win.

What's Next?
Millsaps is right back at Coach Montgomery Courts for the final weekend of the regular season. On Saturday April 14^th they will host Rhodes, and they will entertain Hendrix in the regular season finale on Sunday.
