JACKSON, Miss. – After a historic 2021 season, the Millsaps men's and women's tennis programs look to continue their success on the court under the supervision of newly appointed head coach
Agnes Gee.
The women's team claimed both its first Southern Athletic Association regular season and postseason titles as well as winning its first match in the NCAA Div. III Tennis Championships in program history.
The Majors will start the season with two consecutive road competitions in the Big Easy. On Feb. 11, Millsaps will face Xavier University of Louisiana and conclude the weekend at Loyola University New Orleans on Feb. 12.
Millsaps' first action on the Coach Montgomery Courts will arrive on March 5 when they host Huntingdon and Belhaven in back-to-back matches, beginning at 12 p.m.
The programs will then venture to the Sunshine State to partake in the Spring Break Tennis competition in Orlando, Fla from March 12-19. Opponents will be announced at a later date.
Millsaps will then finish off their non-conference slate in a home contest against Christian Brothers on March 26.
The Majors will kick off conference play on the road with matchups against Centre and Sewanee, April 2-3.
Fans will have numerous opportunities to come out and support as Millsaps finishes the season with five consecutive home matches. The SAA foes include Oglethorpe (April 9), Berry (April 10), Birmingham-Southern (April 15), Rhodes (April 23) and conclude with Hendrix (April 24).
The SAA Tennis Tournaments will take place from April 29 through March 1 in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
