LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The awards continue to roll in for Millsaps softball sophomore center fielder Molli Perry following a fantastic season. On Monday, Perry was named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division III All-Region Second Team for Region VI.

Perry was named the Southern Athletic Association Softball Player of the Year after her record-setting 2022 season. She set the SAA overall steals (43), conference-only games (24) and single-game (six) marks. Perry's 43 stolen bases rank fifth across NCAA Division III.

"I feel beyond grateful to represent this program and this incredible team," said Perry. "God has blessed me tremendously with the greatest teammates and coaches, and I am so proud to be a Major."

Her 59 hits currently rank first across the conference as she posted a team-high .426 batting average. Perry also sits fourth in the SAA in runs scored with 38 and first with 138 at bats. The Business Administration major ranks in the top 10 in on-base percentage and was named SAA Player of the Week on March 7. Perry was also tabbed All-SAA Second Team as a freshman.

The Kaplan, La., product was one of 384 student-athletes from 197 schools to comprise the 2022 NFCA Division III All-Region teams.

"What a year for Molli! All these awards and honors are so deserving to this amazing young woman," said Millsaps softball head coach Caroline DeLoach. "She does it all the right way and is just an awesome softball player and even more incredible person! It is an honor and joy to coach her and watch her be so successful. She is the pure embodiment of a Millsaps Softball Player."

The awards honor student-athletes from the Association's 10 regions with selection to one of three teams. NFCA member head coaches nominate and then vote for the winners in their respective region.

If they were not already voted to an All-Region squad, conference Players and Pitchers of the Year from member institutions are added to the third team in their region, so long as they are nominated by their member head coach and receive votes.

All honorees move forward to be considered for selection for the three NFCA Division III All-America squads, which will be announced on May 24.

The NFCA (National Fastpitch Coaches Association) is the professional organization for fastpitch softball coaches. Known for its highly-regarded All-Region and All-America awards, the NFCA also educates and supports softball coaches on a variety of different levels: from podcasts to a comprehensive drills database, to in-person events and a National Convention.
