ATLANTA – Millsaps men's basketball freshman standout
Cameron Lumar was named All-Southern Athletic Association Honorable Mention following a league-wide coaches' vote, which was announced by the SAA office on Thursday.
Lumar was recognized after finishing top 10 in several conference statistical categories after the SAA regular season and First Round of the SAA Men's Basketball Championship concluded.
The Hahnville, La., product ranks 10th in total points (294), points per game (12.8) and three-point makes (30). He also ranks ninth in steals per game (1.1).
Appearing in 23 games with 20 starts, he led the Majors with 105 field goals, long-range makes and shooting 39.5 percent from beyond the arc (30-for-76). The freshman also finished second on the team in minutes played, rebounds (103), assists (37) and steals (25).
Additionally, Lumar is currently 12th across the SAA in free-throw makes (54), 13th in defensive rebounding (83) and 14th in total rebounds per contest (4.5).
