JACKSON, Miss. – The Millsaps College baseball program announced its competitive 2026 schedule on Thursday. This season's slate features a challenging mix of non-conference opponents, multiple in-region matchups, and a full Southern Athletic Association (SAA) schedule as the Majors look to build momentum toward another postseason run.
The schedule provides significant early season tests along with key conference battles, as Millsaps prepares to face several regional powers and 11 games against 2025 NCAA Tournament teams. Only six of the league's teams will advance to the 2026 SAA Baseball Championship, scheduled for May 7-10.
Millsaps opens its 2026 campaign on the road with a three-game series at LeTourneau University, featuring a single game on Friday, Feb. 6, followed by a Saturday doubleheader on Feb. 7. The Majors are looking for a sweep to start the season, as the final game of last year's matchup was a high-octane scoring affair that the YellowJackets won, 17-16.
The Majors return to Jackson for a reserve game against Hinds Community College on Monday, Feb. 9. A three-game weekend series follows as Millsaps welcomes Edgewood University, Feb. 13-15, marking the first extended home stand of the season. The Majors swept the Eagles last season behind a huge walk-off
Bradley Pelle homer in game three.
The Majors then travel to take on Centenary College on Feb. 17, before returning home for a matchup with Huntingdon College on Feb. 25.
February closes with a couple matchups at home on Feb. 28, featuring contests against Hardin-Simmons University and North Park University.
Millsaps begins March with two home games against Alma College on March 3 and 5.
The Majors will then play Edgewood University once more in a neutral-site battle in Montgomery, Ala. on March 7 and before facing Huntingdon College on its home field for a rematch on March 8.
A home game vs. MUW follows on March 10, before Millsaps hosts Centenary College on March 17.
The Majors dive into SAA play with a three-game road series at Trinity University from March 21-22. The conference newcomers advanced to the NCAA Division III College World Series and will be a tough opponent for the Majors' start of conference play.
Millsaps then returns home for a rivalry contest with Belhaven University on March 24 before hosting Centre College for a full weekend series, March 27-28.
Another meeting with Belhaven follows on March 31, closing out the month on the road at nearby Trustmark Park.
April opens with a road trip to Oglethorpe University for a three-game slate, April 3-4, followed by another SAA road series at Sewanee, April 11-12.
The Majors return to Jackson to face Belhaven one final time in the Cowboy Maloney Series on April 14, then host Rhodes College, April 18–19.
Millsaps then travels to Georgia for a crucial late-season test at Berry College on April 25 and 26.
The regular season concludes with a three-game home series against Southwestern University, May 2-3, serving as the Majors' final tune-up before postseason play.
The top six teams in the conference will advance to the 2026 Southern Athletic Association Baseball Championship, set for May 7-9 at a neutral site in Rome, Ga., with the champion earning the league's automatic NCAA Division III Championship bid.
