Majors Duo Named to 2025-26 CSC Academic All-District® Volleyball Team

Sandy Bourgeois, Olivia Danos Earn High Standards in Academic Studies

GREENWOOD, Ind. — The Millsaps College volleyball program saw two of its own exceptional student-athletes selected to the 2025-26 CSC Academic All-District® Volleyball Teams, as announced by the College Sports Communicators on Tuesday. Junior Sandy Bourgeois and senior Olivia Danos both distinguished themselves highly as representatives of the Majors following their strong commitment on the court and inside the classroom.

The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Volleyball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes volleyball honorees in four divisions—NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and the NAIA.

Bourgeois, a Biochemistry major, achieved a 3.77 cumulative GPA entering the Fall semester and was selected for the CSC Academic All-District® Volleyball Team for the second consecutive year. She has also been recognized on the President's List twice to date and listed twice on the SAA Fall Academic Honor Roll.

Recently Bourgeois conducted research on turtles and participated in a study abroad trip to Africa last summer. On campus, she is involved with Phi Mu Epsilon, the Medical Readiness Initiative, and Tri-Beta. After graduation, she plans to attend Medical School to continue her educational pursuits.

During the 2025 season, Bourgeois appeared in 29 matches. She led the Majors and was second in the conference with 530 digs. She finished second on the team with 75 assists. Additionally, Bourgeois also contributed 33 service aces and recorded eight kills over the course of 109 sets during her junior campaign.

Bourgeois accomplished a season-high 30 digs in a match against Oglethorpe University on Oct. 12, where she played a key role in helping the Majors defeat the Stormy Petrels in a five-set thriller.

Throughout her career at Millsaps, Bourgeois has recorded 1,206 digs, 169 assists, 66 aces, 18 kills while being recognized as SAA Volleyball Offensive Athlete of the Week in 2024.

Danos, a Houston, Texas native, was honored on the 2025 SAA Fall All-Sportsmanship Team and also earned a spot on the CSC Academic All-District® Volleyball Team for the first time. Entering the Fall semester, she maintained a strong 3.63 cumulative GPA, while majoring in Health and Exercise Science with a minor in Psychology.

Danos has been recognized three times on the SAA Fall Academic Honor and has achieved placement on the President's List once and the Dean's List on three occasions thus far.

Danos loves working with children and has assisted at a summer camp as a campus counselor at St. Mark's Episcopal, where she received a Full of Sunshine Award. She has also volunteered at volleyball camps, helping to inspire others.

She holds multiple leadership roles on campus, including Secretary of Omicron Delta Kappa, member of the Order of Omega, President of the Kappa Delta Chapter, and Secretary of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee. She is a Presidential Ambassador as well.

Danos is a member of several honor societies, such as Tri-Beta, Alpha Epsilon Delta, and Phi Eta Sigma, and was recognized as the Omicron Delta Kappa Freshman of the Year. After graduation she plans to attend Physical Therapy School.

This season she participated in 32 matches overall, and played a total of 118 sets. Danos finished third on the team with 262 digs, while accumulating 33 service aces, 26 assists, and six kills.

During her playing time at Millsaps, Danos recorded remarkable career statistics, including 642 digs, 85 aces, 75 assists, and 10 kills.

Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced January 13, 2026.
