BULLARD, Texas – The Millsaps men's and women's golf programs both competed well at the Eagle's Bluff Intercollegiate on the Eagle's Bluff Country Club, Monday and Tuesday.
Senior
Annie Piggott won the event and led the Millsaps women to a fifth-place showing, while classmate
Will Danielson and freshman
Charlie Berglund each tied for 11th to help the Millsaps men's squad secure third place out of 11 teams. The men's team also tallied its best three-round score of the season at plus-50 (308-298-296—902).
Piggott claimed her third triumph of the season and back-to-back wins after carding two rounds at plus-5 (74-73—147) on the par-71 course with four chip-ins. She was tied for first after her 16th hole in round two, where she birdied the 17th and holed out from 36 yards to card an eagle on her 18th hole. Piggott used the dramatic finish to clear a Mary Hardin-Baylor foe by three strokes.
It is now her fourth collegiate victory as the Lindsay, Ontario, product has absolutely excelled in 2024-25. She has three first-place showings, earned second, third and 23rd in six competitions.
Freshman
Abigail Cerwick was 13th at plus-19 (81-80—161). Cerwick recorded a tournament low and tied a one-round low of 80.
Senior
Mallory Noble returned to the course, finishing 42nd at plus-44 (90-96—186). Her classmate
Sophia Albasini was 45th at plus-47 (102-87—189). Collectively the Majors claimed fifth out of 10 teams.
On the men's side, freshman
Charlie Berglund (74-75-76—225) and senior
Will Danielson (79-70-76—225) ended tied for 11th with a three-round score of plus-12.
Sophomore
Jason Howe cracked the top 20, tying for 19th (83-75-73—231) at plus-18. His third round plus-2 matched a personal-best 74 shot on a par-72 course earlier in the season.
Freshman
Miles Harrison tied for 24th at plus-20 with a new collegiate 54-hole best (80-78-75-233).
Also competing for the Majors well was senior
Thomas Arensberg (T-27th, 78-84-72—234) at plus-21, while junior
Steven Noack (T-46th, 77-81-87—245) at plus-32.
The women's team will next compete in the FHU Spring Classic at Ross Creek, April 7-8, while the men will return to action at the SAA Golf Championships, April 25-27.
