DICKSON, Tenn. – The Millsaps men's and women's golf programs opened the 2025 SAA Golf Championships at the Greystone Golf Club with the First Round on Friday.
Senior Annie Piggott sits tied for seventh in a strong opening round, while freshman Miles Harrison was the top competitor on the men's team by tying for 20th among 42 conference contenders.
The women's competed on a par-72 course covering 5,614 yards, while the men's course covered 6,708 yards on a par-72 course, while dealing with rainy weather throughout Friday.
Piggott carded a plus-4 while executing two birdies and 12 pars. The Lindsay, Ontario, native pars count was the third most in the first round of the championship.
Freshman Abigail Cerwick had a solid showing in her first collegiate championship where she posted a plus-19 and finished in the top 30.
Following behind Cerwick, senior Mallory Noble tied for 31st with a plus-21. Classmate Sophia Albasini held the 34th spot with a plus-25 to help the Majors complete Round One.
In the men's competition, Harrison tied for 20th for the Majors and carded a plus-3.
Right behind Harrison, senior Thomas Arensberg tied for 27th with a plus-4 while Will Danielson ranks in a tie for 31st at plus-5.
Freshman Charlie Berglund (plus-6, tied for 33rd) was also in the mix for the Majors in his collegiate championship debut.
Sophomore Jason Howe and junior Steven Noack both tied for 35th at plus-7 to help close out well for the men's team.
