CANTON, Ga. – The Millsaps College Department of Athletics set the tone once more in academics after 104 student-athletes were named to the 2025 Southern Athletic Association Spring Academic Honor Roll, announced by SAA Commissioner Stacey LaDew on Friday, June 13.
The 104 Majors on the honor roll consisted of student-athletes across 12 winter and spring sports, including men's and women's basketball, men's and women's swimming and diving, baseball, softball, men's and women's golf, men's and women's tennis as well as men's and women's track and field.
Baseball led the way with 27 student-athletes, while the women's track and field team recorded the second-highest number of honorees with 15.
Women's basketball secured third with 11 members, while softball finished with 10 selected players.
All seven members of the women's tennis team were included on the list. The men's basketball team also had seven student-athletes recognized for their academic achievements.
Both men's golf as well as the men's track and field program achieved a total of six honorees each.
Earning five selections on the 2025 SAA Spring Academic Honor Roll were the men's tennis team as well as the women's swimming and diving team.
Women's golf celebrated the achievements of three outstanding athletes, while the men's swimming and diving team honored two individuals for their exceptional dedication and hard work outside of athletic competition.
Across seven current member institutions, the SAA tallied 1,254 individuals on the honor roll.
To qualify, student-athletes from the SAA's member schools must have posted a minimum GPA of 3.25 or higher for the Spring Semester and been a member of a conference-sponsored varsity sport. Student-athletes who meet the criteria are submitted to the SAA by each member institution.
