GREENWOOD, Ind. – After leading the Majors to a successful season, five scholar-athletes were recognized on the 2025 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® DIII Baseball Team for their outstanding hard work inside the classroom and on the ball field. Announced on Tuesday by the CSC, senior
Gray Berry, graduate Jackson Hood, junior EJ Ousley, senior Bradley Pelle and graduate Wil Wood all received praise from the Millsaps College baseball program.
Berry made the list for the first time, while Hood, Ousley and Pelle earned the honor for the second consecutive season. Wood garnered his third such accolade of his career.
To earn recognition, student-athletes must have competed in 90 percent of the institution's games played or must start in at least 66 percent of the games. For pitchers, a student-athlete must have made at least 17 appearances or
pitched 35 innings.
Graduating with a 3.58 GPA as an undergraduate, Berry obtained his academic degree in business administration with a minor in digital marketing.
The standout leadoff, third baseman led the Majors to an impressive (29-15, 13-5 SAA) overall record and was named an All-American by D3baseball.com and ABCA/Rawlings as well as All-SAA First Team.
The West Point, Miss., native started in all 44 games for the Majors during his senior campaign and finished first in the conference with 65 runs scored while tying for second with 69 hits.
Berry's stellar .408 batting average garnered second in the conference as well. His impressive 45 RBIs ranked third in the league and he was fourth in the conference with 16 doubles.
Outside of baseball, Berry was named to the Dean's List and SAA Spring Academic Honor Roll.
During the summer of 2024, Berry spent most of his time as a fan experience intern for Mississippi State Athletics.
Concluding his graduate studies, Hood boasted a 3.95 cumulative graduate GPA inside the classroom where he completed his M.B.A in Analytics.
His intelligence in academics led him to become a five-time member of the SAA Academic Honor Roll.
Not shy of academic success, Hood has been acknowledged on Club 40, the 2024 CSC Academic All-District® Baseball Team, and both the President's and Dean's Lists previously.
Hood appeared in 17 matchups and saw three starts on the mound during his graduate campaign.
The right-handed pitcher pitched 20.2 innings on the hill for the Majors, where he accumulated three saves and finished the season fifth on the team with 23 strikeouts, averaging over one strikeout per inning.
On campus, Hood was a member of the Alpha Epsilon Delta and worked as a case tech intern at the Baton Rouge Orthopedic Clinic.
Following his hard work inside the classroom, Hood fulfilled his success by graduating with an MBA.
Ousley named a 2025 All-SAA Honorable Mention, appears back on the CSC Academic All-District® Baseball Team after maintaining a 3.63 GPA, while majoring in accounting.
During the 2025 season, Ousley started in all 44 games for the Majors where his talent on the playing field helped him record nine doubles and a triple.
The Prattville, Ala., completed his junior campaign with 43 hits and 14 hit by pitches. He was fifth among the Majors with 31 RBIs and added 28 runs.
The shortstop is a member of Club 40 and plans to pursue a master's degree in business administration after graduation.
Pelle, selected the SAA Athlete of the Year by the conference, has shined once again on the CSC Academic All-District® Baseball Team for the second consecutive year after an historic season.
The Kenner, La., native finished his undergraduate studies with an impressive 3.70 GPA where he majored in business administration. He appeared on the All-SAA First Team and was recognized as a First Team All-American by ABCA/Rawlings and D3baseball.com.
Working hard to always be the best, Pelle led the team and conference with 14 home runs and was second in the league with 59 RBIs.
The right fielder also ranked first in the league with 70 hits and 21 doubles. Pelle finished second on the team with a .387 batting average in 44 starts.
Outside of baseball, Pelle has made both Club 40 twice as well as the President's List, SAA Academic Honor Roll and Dean's List multiple times.
Making his way back to the CSC Academic All-District® Baseball Team for the third consecutive season, Wood, continued to set the bar high after being applauded for completing his MBA in analytics.
As a scholar-athlete, Wood held a 3.86 GPA as a graduate. During the 2025 season, he appeared in 17 games while making 14 appearances on the mound.
The well-rounded pitcher completed his graduate season with 46 strikeouts in 62.2 innings pitched.
Wood posted a 5-1 overall pitching record and on Feb. 22 he recorded his 300th career strikeout.
Apart from his Millsaps baseball fame, the Memphis Tenn., native is a five-time member of the All-SAA Academic Honor Roll thus far, a two-time recipient of the Graduate Student President's List and has served as President of the Kappa Alpha Order for two terms.
Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members, including Berry and Pelle. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced July 1, 2025.
