Eleanor Scott, Dallas Sticker Better Program Marks on Saturday

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Milsaps College men's and women's track and field programs opened their 2026 indoor campaigns with sizzling starts and program record-breaking performances at the Samford Open on Saturday.

In total, the Majors posted five marks that landed in the top five in the school's indoor record lists at the Birmingham CrossPlex.

Senior field specialist Eleanor Scott set the indoor triple jump record, while freshman distance runner Dallas Stricker now stands atop the indoor mile ledger.

On the women's side, Scott finished 15th in the triple jump and covered 10.37 meters (34' 0.25").

Freshman Katie Brown was strong in the high jump, tying for fourth in school history with a leap of 1.45 meters (4' 9").

Senior Amari Jackson-Wright also etched her name into the fourth slot the indoor shot put. Her toss of 9.45 meters (31' 0") placed 29th.

Fellow thrower and sophomore Vivian Jordan placed 39th in the same event in Alabama (7.92 m – 26' 0").

Sophomore Suzanna Busbee was the lone runner for the Majors on Saturday, competing in the 60-meter and 200-meter dashes. She placed 57th in both events with times of 8.96 seconds and 29.94 seconds, respectively.

In the men's competition, Stricker covered the indoor mile in a blistering 4 minutes, 30.69 seconds. He finished 25th out of 50 finishers to shatter the previous school record set in 2014 by nearly seven seconds.

His classmates Nick Price and Wyatt Wheeler were both terrific in the 60-meter dash as well.

Price placed 50th with a standard of 7.34 seconds, while Wheeler was 65th in 7.51 seconds. Price now stands second in school history, while Wheeler is now sixth.

Sophomore Aidan Brice (7.58 seconds, 66th) and freshman Frederick Fluker (7.74 seconds, 72nd) also competed in the sprint.

The four also showed well in the 200-meter dash. Price was 50th (24.03), Brice finished 54th (24.76) just ahead of Wheeler in 55th (24.76), while Fluker closed in 62nd (25.64).

Completing the running events for the Majors was sophomore Phillip Antis. He placed 50th in the 400 meters (55.99).

Freshman Sean Wyers stamped his name as the second-best indoor shot put thrower in school history to date. He claimed 24th position with a toss of 12.61 meters (41' 4.5").

Sophomore Dillon Duley was 35th (10.60 meters) and freshman Michael Cosgriff was 38th (9.56 meters).

Rounding out the meet for Millsaps was junior Carter Davis in the weight throw (7.12 meters, 39th).

Millsaps will resume its indoor track and field seasons on Saturday, Feb. 7 at the UAB Invitational back inside the Birmingham CrossPlex.
