Fiona Selders Selected SAA Women’s Track Athlete of the Week

Louisiana Native Boasts Strong Finishes in Outdoor Opener

CANTON, Ga.  The Southern Athletic Association announced Millsaps College junior sprinter Fiona Selders as the SAA Women's Track Athlete of the Week on Tuesday, after improving in the programs' record book at the Mississippi College Spring Classic over the weekend. 

At the Mississippi College Spring Cleaning Classic on Saturday, Selders posted a 10th-place finish in the women's 100 meters with a time of 12.33 seconds.

She also participated in the 200 where she placed eighth, completing her race in 25.29 seconds.

Selders became the second-fastest runner in program history in the 100, and the third-fastest in the 200 to close out her weekend strong in Clinton, Miss.

Looking ahead the Majors will continue their Spring schedule traveling to Memphis, Tenn., for the Rhodes Invitational, March 20-21.
