Major Track and Field Trio Earns Spots on SAA All-Sportsmanship Teams

Scott, Hernandez, Davis Recognized for Leadership Across Indoor, Outdoor Seasons

CANTON, GA.— Millsaps College track and field senior Eleanor Scott garnered both indoor and outdoor Southern Athletic Association All-Sportsmanship Team honors following her strong seasons, leading by example. Junior Carter Davis was also named to the 2025–26 Indoor SAA All-Sportsmanship Team, while sophomore Greer Hernandez made the Outdoor SAA All-Sportsmanship Team as selected by the Millsaps track and field coaches.

The Southern Athletic Association announced that these three student-athletes were named to the Indoor and Outdoor All-Sportsmanship Teams for their strong commitment to fair play among competition and for displaying great character in the sport they love tremendously.

Davis earned a spot on the SAA Indoor Track and Field All-Sportsmanship Team for the second consecutive season.

At the 2026 SAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, he recorded a throw of 8.00 meters in the weight throw event.

After concluding his indoor season, Davis competed in the 2026 SAA Outdoor Championships, where he finished 17th in the men's javelin throw and 21st in the men's hammer throw.

Davis also recorded a personal best in the javelin at the Rhodes 7-Way Meet, where he closed the event out in fifth place at 27.49 meters on April 13.

The Mandeville, La., native is currently majoring in Accounting with a minor in Communications.

On campus, Davis is a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity, the Presidential Ambassador Lead Team, a Welcome Week freshman orientation leader, the Finance Club, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

After graduation, he plans to return to Millsaps College to pursue his master's degree in Accounting.

A great role model among his teammates, Davis looks forward to an outstanding senior year competing in both the indoor and outdoor seasons next year.

Named to both the indoor and outdoor All-Sportsmanship Teams, the Majors could not ask for a better candidate than Scott.

The Clinton Miss, native ranked seventh in the conference within the triple jump with a 10.37 finish ahead of the SAA Indoor Championships.

Scott set the Millsaps indoor triple jump record at the Samford Opening, where she recorded a mark of 10.37 meters on Jan. 18.

At the 2026 Indoor Track & Field Championships, Scott secured the seventh-place spot in the triple jump with 10.68 meters (35 feet, 0.5 inches).

Scott could not have finished her senior year in a better way, as she scored in a pair of events on the final day of the 2026 SAA Outdoor Championships.

She sailed to seventh place in the high jump (season-best 1.52 meters) as well as eighth in the triple jump (10.85 meters).

Hernandez is a distance runner who gives all he has, no matter who he is competing against, demonstrating toughness and a willingness to push himself to be the best for his coaches and teammates.

On Day one of the 2026 SAA Outdoor Championships, Greer put the Majors on notice across the league.

Hernandez ran a blistering, school-record time of 32 minutes, 7.12 seconds after unleashing a killer close in the final 150 meters to win first place.

The Broussard, La., native became the 11th conference champion from the Millsaps men's team in program history following the epic finish.

The first-place accolade also earned Hernandez a spot on the All-SAA First Team. Hernandez finished the distance group with a 10th place ranking in the 5000 meters (10.25.27).

In the 2025 indoor season at the UAB Green and Gold Invitational Hernandez became the second fastest Major ever in the mile (4:36.23; 17th) as well as the second swiftest in the 3K (9:07.81; 20th).

Hernandez is majoring in Business Administration and History. He has made the Dean's List on two occasions and is a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity on the campus of Millsaps. After graduation, he plans to pursue his MBA.
