HOUSTON -- The Millsaps men's and women's golf programs officially began their 2026 spring slates at the Space City Classic, competing on the Gus Wortham Golf Course. The Majors competed in the event hosted by University of St. Thomas (Texas), Monday and Tuesday.
Sophomore
Charlie Berglund and junior
Julius Kroell each posted top-25 finishes. Berglund competed as an individual, tying with the 22nd lowest score with a plus-9 after three rounds of action.
Kroell tied for 25th place at plus-10. He posted a career-best 1-under 71 in the final round.
Freshman transfer
Jack Ritter looked strong in his collegiate debut, finishing in 42nd at plus-23.
Completing the Major scoring, tying for 44th were sophomores
Miles Harrison and
Noble Burns. The duo closed at plus-26.
Also competing for the Majors in a tie for 47th was senior
Steven Noack. He carded a plus-33.
Sophomore
Abigail Cerwick competed for the women's team, placing in a tie for 16th on the leaderboard. Her two rounds included scores of 80 and 88, good for a plus-26 showing.
The Helena, Ala., native posted her lowest single round score as well as her lowest two-round total of the season. The 80 she shot in the first round also matches a career low.
Cerwick will next compete at the Hal Sutton Invitational in Bossier City, La., March 16-17. The men's program will be back in action at the Pine Dunes Intercollegiate in Frankston, Texas, March 30-31.
