SEARCY, Ark. – The Millsaps men's and women's track and field programs set 26 personal records at the Harding Invitational as well as four top-five program finishes. A total of 16 Majors tallied top-10 finishes while senior
Carolina Teague outlasted her competition with a first-place time of 1:06.30 in the 400m hurdles on Saturday.
On the women's side, freshman
Sarah Strickland shined with a second-place time of 5:04.91 in the 1500m while also scoring a team-best time of 2:32.31 for fourth place in the 800m. Her 1500m was just off the school record of 5:03.15 set by Courtney Aymett in 2014.
Khloe Colar (100m hurdles, 18.72 seconds, second in school history),
Natalie Burke (200m, 26.58, fourth in school history), and
Rose Ward (5000m, 19:23.6, third in program history) all claimed team-best, top-10 finishes.
In men's competition, the 4x100 relay team of
Jett Coolman,
Chris Butler,
Dez'Tavien Frank, and
Sergey Kolesnik totaled a third-place time of 43.91. Senior high jumper
Storm Buescher soared as he tied his school record of 2.00m for second.
Ryan Skates (3000 Steeplechase) and Frank (400m) posted career-bests in their respective events.
Junior long-distance runner
Landry Lemoine posted a blazing time of 15:53.59 in the 5000m to cross the line in fifth.
The Majors will next travel to Memphis to compete in the Rhodes 7-Way Meet on Friday.
