Dakota Rock to Resign as Millsaps Women's Soccer Coach

Rock Helmed Majors Previous Three Seasons

JACKSON, Miss. – Millsaps College Director of Athletics Justin LeBlanc has received notice and accepted the resignation of Millsaps women's soccer head coach Dakota Rock. The announcement was made on Thursday and a national search for the next Millsaps women's soccer head coach will begin immediately. A new compliance officer will also be named.

"We are grateful for Dakota's hard work and dedication he has down with improving the women's soccer program and within our compliance department," said LeBlanc. "Dakota time and energy spent the previous three seasons was tremendously appreciated and we all wish him the best with his future endeavors."

Coach Rock has accepted the women's soccer head coaching position at Guilford College in Greensboro, N.C.

"I am extremely grateful for my time here at Millsaps," Rock said. "I am especially grateful to Justin Leblanc, Jaime Fisher, and Aaron Pelch for giving me this opportunity to lead the Women's Soccer program the past three years and their leadership in the athletic department. I am also truly grateful for the student-athletes that I was able to coach and get to know during my time here on campus! I know the program has a bright future and I can't wait to keep up with the program as they go on throughout the years."

During his three seasons as Millsaps head women's soccer coach and Millsaps compliance officer, the Majors totaled 40 student-athletes on the Fall Southern Athletic Association Academic Honor Roll. The team also had nine members of the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Women's Soccer team and had eight student-athletes named All-SAA Honorable Mention.

In his first season, the Majors improved defensively by conceding the fewest goals (24) and tallying the most shutouts (five) since 2009. The team also posted a 1.60 goals against average.

Rock sports six seasons of prior expertise as an assistant coach at three stops at the NCAA Division III level, including Rhodes College, Otterbein University and Randolph College.

Prior to Rhodes, Rock was a men's assistant at Otterbein University (Columbus, Ohio) in 2018 and a women's assistant at Randolph College (Lynchburg, Va.) for three seasons, beginning in 2016.

Rock also competed as a student-athlete at NCAA Division II at Lake Erie College as well as Division III at both Washington and Jefferson College and Guilford College. He also coached youth soccer with the Greensboro United during his junior and senior seasons.
