INDIANAPOLIS – The impressive season for the Millsaps College baseball team continues as the Majors earned a spot in the 2025 NCAA Division III Baseball Championship, which was announced in an NCAA baseball selection show on Monday.
Millsaps (29-13, 13-5 SAA) advances to its ninth NCAA Regional in program history and first since 2015. The Majors have now made it in 1995, 1996, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2009, 2013, 2015 and 2025.
East Texas Baptist University will be the host, with games being played at Woods Field in Marshall, Texas. The regional will feature a double-elimination format and take place Friday, May 16 through Sunday, May 18.

No. 1 Trinity (TX) (NPI – 9 | 36-7, 27-3 SCAC)
Trinity University claimed the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Regular Season and Postseason titles and finished inside the top 10 of the NCAA Power Index.
The Tigers are led by SCAC Coach of the Year
Tim Scannell and 13 All-SCAC student-athletes. A quartet of All-SCAC First Team members include seniors
Maddox McDonald,
Brandon Nelson along with sophomore
Brandon Morio and freshman
Jace Clay.
McDonald has 48 RBIs, a .480 on-base percentage and a team-high 18 stolen bases. Nelson is batting .387 with 39 RBIs in 32 games.
Morio has impressed in 39.2 innings with a 1.59 ERA and 6-0 record. Clay is 5-1 with a 3.14 ERA in 57.1 innings and a team-best 55 strikeouts.
No. 2 Millsaps (NPI – 23 | 29-13, 13-5 SAA)
Millsaps College is helmed by
Jim Page,
Jackson Hailey and
Doug Fortenberry. The trio were named the SAA Baseball Coaching Staff of the Year after the Majors were picked sixth in the SAA Baseball Preseason Poll and earned the SAA Regular Season title.
The Majors had a dozen players make All-SAA First Team, Second Team or Honorable Mention, including SAA Baseball Athlete of the Year
Bradley Pelle and SAA Baseball Pitcher of the Year
Nick Tarantino. Both seniors made All-SAA First Team as well as classmates
Gray Berry and
Evan Scott.
Pelle has powered a team-high 14 homers, 68 hits, 58 RBIs and 15 steals. Tarantino owns a dominant 10-1 record with 85 strikeouts and a 2.94 ERA.
Berry has a team-high .527 on-base percentage and 64 runs scored. He also possesses 13 steals and 66 hits. Scott has tallied seven homers, 28 walks and a .489 on-base percentage.
No. 3 East Texas Baptist (NPI – 39 | 28-14, 11-5 ASC)
East Texas Baptist University will play host and are powered by 15 All-ASC baseball players. ASC Co-Freshman of the Year
Joaquin Costa and ASC Newcomer of the Year senior
Luke Bumpus highlighted the honors.
Costa has a .362 batting average and 24 RBIs, while Bumpus has an incredible .415 batting average and 51 hits. The Tigers are the American Southwest Conference Co-Regular Season Champions and won the ASC Postseason crown.
No. 4 Huntingdon (NPI – 93 | 22-19, 7-11 CCS)
Huntingdon College posted upsets in the Collegiate Conference of the South Baseball Tournament to earn the league's automatic qualification selection.
The Hawks posted two on the All-CCS teams. Junior
Brent Cadenhead was All-CCS First Team as a relief pitcher and All-CCS Second Team as a utility player.
Cadenhead enters the regional with nine saves and a 2.17 ERA in 29.0 innings pitched. At the plate, he has 37 hits, 16 RBIs and 16 walks.
The Majors and Hawks split a pair of matchups, with each team winning at home in seven innings. Huntingdon won, 11-0 on March 8 before Millsaps returned the favor, 15-5 on April 9.
