Allana Vasquez Recognized on CSC Academic All-District® Softball Team

Sophomore Excelled in the Circle, Batter’s Box and Classroom

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Millsaps softball sophomore standout Allana Vasquez was recognized for her success on the diamond as well as in the classroom as she was named to the 2025 CSC Academic All-District® Softball Team, selected by the College Sports Communicators on Tuesday.

The 2025 Academic All-District® Softball teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes softball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.

An undergraduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale). Additionally, student-athletes must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games/contests played or must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's games/contests. Pitchers must have made 17 appearances or totaled 25 innings pitched. They must also be sophomores or further into their collegiate academic careers.

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot denoted with an asterisk. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on Tuesday, June 17.

Majoring in biology with a minor in business administration, Vasquez boasted an impressive 3.55 cumulative GPA inside the classroom following the 2025 season. She helped lead the Majors to the best record since the 2017 campaign (24-14, 11-4 SAA).

Vasquez's outstanding performance on the field helped her earn a spot on the All-SAA Second Team as a utility player. She also powered the Majors to the 2025 Southern Athletic Softball Championship Game.

During the 2025 Spring slate, Vasquez finished tied for second in the conference with 13 doubles, fourth with 32 RBIs and sixth with 49 hits.

Vasquez also topped the team with a .383 batting average, which ranked seventh in the league, while her four hit by pitches tied for sixth.

On Feb. 17, she was named SAA Softball Pitcher of the Week and SAA Softball Player of the Week, becoming the first Major to sweep both on the field in the same week.

As a true freshman last season, Vasquez became a member of the All-SAA First Team as a designated player.

Inside the circle, Vasquez held a 13-8 pitching record, was second in the league with 107 strikeouts and fourth in victories.

Vasquez was third in the conference with 132.1 innings pitched, while ranking fourth with a .240 opponent's batting average and fifth with a 3.17 ERA. The right-handed pitcher started in all 38 games for the Majors.

On the Millsaps campus, Vasquez received praise as a Phi Eta Sigma honoree. She has also made the Spring Dean's List, Spring SAA Academic Honor Roll as a freshman and made the 2023-24 Winter/Spring All-Sportsmanship Team.
